Three in One Tour In Bulusaraung Park, South Sulawesi

This is the tourist object that presents more than one attraction. Waterfalls, prehistoric caves, and butterflies. It’s called, Bulusaraung Park. The park is located in District Bantimurung, Maros regency, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia off course.

From the ticket window, the roar of rushing river is loud and clear. Less than ten steps from the ticket window, there is already a beautiful natural scenery awaits. Bantimurung waterfall.

The waterfall comes flowing down from a height of about 30 meters and hits the rock . The sound’s rumbling throughout the day.

That natural scenerythat can be enjoyed while swimming in natural pool near the waterfall. The water is cool because it is derived from mountain springs.

Visitors can simply enjoy the cool water bath or swim in the river basin beneath the waterfall. Tired of swimming, visitors can rest in small huts located on the riverbank.

Resting after tired of swimming is more complete with the availability of typical maros snacks.Like songkolo, snacks made from glutinous rice and coconut milk fed. There are also yellow rice served with fried noodles, oseng-oseng tempe, and anchovy.

Best time to visit Bantimurung is March. In the peak season, usually, the manager of the tourist sites complete the place with children’s games. One of them is bombom car.

After enjoying Bantimurung waterfalls, the tour can be continued by browsing prehistoric caves, Cave Batu(Rock) and the Cave Mimpi(Dreams). Those two caves present stalactite and stalagmite. It’s long and pointy and has hair hole in its center.

Needs a little more effort to reach the caves. The caves are located on the slopes of Mount Bulusaraung or just above the Bantimurung waterfall. There are thousands of stairs to reach the caves. It is certainly a challenge that’s fun for fans of adventure.

It needs flashlight or torch to come in and enjoy the beauty of the stalactite and stalagmite in the cave. It’s said, hat the cave length is about 800 meters.

In general, stalaktite hanged on the ceiling has long tapered shape. However, there are some uniquely shaped, like chickens, cats, and baby faces. The most interesting stalactite is the one that causing distinctive sound when struck.

Need necessary caution when walking down the cave. Because, there a are plenty of bats hanging on the ceiling of the cave. The exciting and challenging journey along the cave takes about half an hour. To get out of Mimpi Cave visitors must walk up through some small cracks on the edge of the cave.

After completing the journey through the cave, a new visitor can understand why the place is called Cave of Dreams(Mimpi). All that are experienced in, along, until out of the cave is just like in a dream.
