Java is the name of an island in Indonesia (yes, some of us also know it as a programming language, but we will not discuss it here, not here, not now). Java is the most populated island, the island with the most population, and the thirteenth largest island in the world. It has an area of 138,793.6 km2 with a population of about 124 million inhabitants with the density of 979 inhabitants per km2.

Java population is mostly Javanese and Sundanese. The Sundanese mainly settle in the west side of the island while the Javanese are in the central and east. However, in the west side of Java, there are also several Javanese communities who speak Javanese, while in the middle of Java there are some Sundanese communities especially in Brebes and Cilacap District. In addition, there are also the Madurese and Balinese in East Java, and the Betawi community in the west area of Java in Jakarta (the capital city of Indonesia) and the surrounding cities.
