No. It’s not the same as Gangga river in India.

Gangga Island Marine Park is one of the marine park among the islands in North Sulawesi. This marine park is less than 6.1 kilometers from the city of North Minahasa Islands, North Sulawesi, Indonesia.

This island with white sand has thousands charm of colorful coral reefs and hundreds various of ornamental fishes. Gangga Beach is one of the tourist sites that can be the icon of tourism in Minahasa. This is because the professional management by the government of Minahasa, Manado and Bitung, North Sulawesi, from the arrangement of objects to the promotion so no wonder the current occupancy rate is relatively high, especially in the holidays and weekends. In addition to these locations, there are still many coastal areas that also have high potential to be developed as a marine tourism object.

Gangga Island Marine Park this is a highly recommended place for divers, who might only ever heard about diving places like Raja Ampat, Wakatobi, Bunaken Island, or Derawan which are indeed major diving places in Indonesia recommended for diving or snorkeling, but after seeing Gangga Island, you must also put Gangga Island on that list as one of the best diving and snorkelling place in Indonesia.

To reach this place, tourists can use the car to the north of the city of Manado to get to the Village Likupan for 1 hour, then proceed by using the speed boat to Gangga Island for about 30 minutes.

For facilities, Gangga Island has more than enough of them. Tourists can stay at the resort hotel, and in addition there are also many dining restaurants with exotic seafood menu. The level of accomodation and facilities in Gangga Island is international since it’s managed professionaly together by the government and foreign investors, hence it’s very worth visit.

Especially if Raja Ampat is too expensive. And Bunaken is out of reach. And Wakatobi is too crowded.
