Mentioning Bali as a tourist spot, many are placing Kuta Beach as the most unforgettable place for swimming, surfing, or just walking along the beach waiting for the sunset. While others suggest Tanah Lot as the most romantic place to chat until the sun burst of orange on sunset.

Those who love sports paragliding and jet skiing, choosing Nusa Dua Beach as the preferred place for that air and water sports. But FYI, Bali is not only beautiful because of its beaches. There are other places that are no less lovely, and one them is Bedugul.

Bedugul, a small town 18 kilometers away from Denpasar, capital of Bali province, located 1500 meters above sea level. Therefore the air in this region feel cooler, daytime temperatures ranging between 25 degrees Celsius. It’s a pleasant temperature compared with other major cities in Indonesia, which ranges from 33 degrees celsius.

The famous place in Bedugul is the floating temple called Pura Ulun Danu. Pura Ulun Danu is located on Lake Bratan Bedugul. It requires boat or raft to reach the temple. However, when the lake water is receding, we can retrace the steps to the temple.

At the lake, we can also do paragliding and boating around the lake for a moment, enjoying the scenery of the clean and beutiful lake. Besides Lake Bratan as tourist sites, Bedugul also has a Botanical Garden containing various kind of old trees. The botanical garden was arranged very neat, clean with well-maintained green grass, and from this garden, we can see the scenery of beautiful, quiet and cool Lake Bratan.

For those who want to buy Balinese typical souvenirs, like painting, various arts and crafts items, the traditional market of Bedugul also provide these items. The price also compete with the prices of goods in famous Bali’s Sukowati Market, Tabanan. The key is just one while shopping in this market, bargain prices boldly. But generally, the seller in the market is not too ‘sadistic’ in fixing prices.

For golf enthusiasts, Bedugul is a high priority on holiday to Bali. Playing golf in a cool and refreshing air, certainly more pleasant than in hot and dry one. A good place to play golf in Bali Bedugul is Handara Kosaido. In this place, you’re not only able to play golf, but also staying overnight in Bungalows provided.

The place is very pleasant for those who love the mountain air. Seeing the fresh green leaves of the trees until the fog headed down and covered the tops of the trees, is something that offers an unforgettable romance. A few kilometers away from Bali’s Handara, you will be able to see the strawberry plantations in the Pancasari Village. In this Pancasari Village, visitors can pick strawberries straight from the pots arranged in a plastic house. From this village also, you can see the entire Bedugul from the high place. Bratan lakes, trees and terasiring, became a priceless landscape painting. When the fog is starting to fall, racing to meet the twilight, another beautiful romance is created in Bedugul. And the exploration of Bedugul is a never ending one.
