- Before leaving, the stomach should be filled and not empty, but not too full.
- Choose the big ship if possible. Because large ships are better in reducing the sea waves. The ship used for Merak – Bakauheni crossing point generally has capacity for hundreds of passengers.
- Choose the seat at the rear of the ship, ship with speed of 20 knots generally will make the front section of the ship lifted and will be felt like flying for a moment.
- Don’t choose the top floor of the boat, the shock is stronger at the top.
- Select a shady spot and look a good air circulation, not musty. A room with air-conditioned would be perfect, if possible.
- Calm your mind, don’t be carried away by the fear, because fear will occurs 5 minutes after the ship left and away from the dock.
- For those who began to feel nauseous and dizzy should try staring at the horizon, where the islands are far away and take a deep breath. Prepare a plastic bag to vomit if it can’t be prevented. Remember, the ship will not stop even if you throw up. Even if the ship stops, shock waves will hit the hull more and will cause more dizziness and nausea.
