Scuba (diving) is basically a high-risk sport. However, you can do it with fun, safe and free from accident, by following a few safety rules.

  • Follow scuba diving training and get qualification from a trusted, registered agent.
  • Get a medical exam and do a swim test before diving.
  • After getting your qualifications, don’t go diving in a dangerous place, where you don’t meet the skills or qualifications, like sea cave, or Shipwreck diving, which requires special training.
  • Never. Never ever go diving alone. Find friends to dive with you.
  • Listen carefully and follow the instructions given by the person in charge during your dive trip.
  • Check the equipment carefully and make sure every equipment is functioning, especially if it’s rental equipment. You never know
  • Find out about the weather on the diving location before really going on a diving. Make sure that the water temperature and weather conditions are safe enough to do the dive. Swin aside quickly when you hear or see the storm approaching.
  • Protect you skin with a waterproof sunscreen that contains at least 15 SPF (Sun Protection Factor)
  • Drink as much water and as often as possible, even if you don’t feel thirsty. And be aware of the indication of dehydration.

  • You should also recognize the characteristics of hypothermia and, of course, how to overcome ot.
  • Use sunglasses to protect your eyes from the sun. Choose sunglasses that absorb at least 90 percent of ultraviolet rays.
